Hisaronu Area
More info...
Hisaronu was once a sleepy village in the mountains 450mts above sea level, benefiting from the fresh mountain air, making it slightly cooler than the seaside resorts, it’s actually in the hills between Oludeniz and Fethiye and is surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery with pine-clad forests overlooking a spectacular bay, it is now one of Turkey’s top holiday destinations.
The resort is unspoilt surrounded by breath taking beauty and has an irresistible charm all of it’s own, with many shops, bars and restaurants offering culinary delights, both Turkish and International cuisine at very reasonable prices. There is a bustling market on a Monday which sells just about everything and the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. At night Hisaronu is vibrant and entertaining, really coming alive with bars and discos staying open well into the small hours.
Oludeniz and Belcekiz beach is a short Dolmus ride away down the mountain, this takes you to the beach boasted as one of Turkey’s most famous and photographed beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters and gentle lapping waves.
Customers can take advantage of a free bus service departing from the crossroads (at castle bar) outside the apartment at 10:00am & 11;00am each morning and takes you to Genec beach (a private beach with golden sands in the heart of the Blue lagoon). There is a restaurant and a cafe bar, a short stroll away from your sun lounger, the bus leaves the beach at 4:00pm and 5:00pm and drops you back at the apartment.
In fact one of the best evenings you can have is the Genec beach barbeque where the NGI coach picks people up at 7:00pm and takes you down to the beach to spend an evening eating, drinking and watching a spectacular caberet before bringing you back.
Transfer time from the nearest airport of Dalaman is approx 50 minutes.
Out and About
More info...
Fethiye is a 10 minute Dolmus ride away, it has a wonderful harbour and is a great place day or night with it’s restaurants and bars facing the many lines of boats in various sizes. if you fancy organising your own boat trips this is the place to arrange it. Then there is the bustling town centre full of it’s many shops and again many bars and restaurants. Tuesday is market day and the largest in the area, ideal for trying out your bartering skills as the locals just love to haggle and joke with you.
Kayakoy Ghost village is just a few minutes away in a Dolmus but they only run once an hour or you could even walk from Hisaronu, it may take you a good half hour but it’s mainly downhill and shaded by the pine forest. It consists of a whole village that was originally occupied by the greeks but when the countries split they left all on mass and the village has remained empty ever since.
Gemiler beach is a very quite and secluded beach with just a couple of beach bar restaurants, take the same Dolmus for Kaya Koy but stay on until the very end of the road, this may take about 15 minutes or you could combine both in one trip.
